In UWP 1Y, I am excited to work on creating a piece of writing that is in a good order while learning formats different from the 5 paragraph format. In high school my teachers mainly stressed the importance of a 5 paragraph format, and while I found it convenient as a student to use that as a way to lazily get all my words on the paper and turn it in, I always felt like it was less readable. When I read back on my passed essays I realize that they lack flair and engaging qualities. The 5 paragraph format was boring and constricting to me. I want to learn new way of ordering my content to make a less predictable while still organized essay.

I am also excited to learn how to write a research paper in UWP 1Y, one time in high school we had to write a research paper but honestly my teacher really did not offer a lot of help and I was really confused by what he was asking and how to gather research and format the whole thing. Ever since that experience I have been scared of ever needing to do one again. While I am a little nervous to do it again, I am excited to do it in a better environment and where the research paper can be something I am more interested in.

One more thing I am excited to learn about is how to phrase what I say in a more elegant way. Sometimes I feel like I still write like a middle schooler because I don't have that big of a vocabulary. I want my sentences to be able to flow a little bit better and to use words that are more accurate in conveying my point while still sounding pretty.
